2009 Main Page Team Picture Coaches Schedule Roster State Qualifying Times | |||||
2/22/10 The Swim & Dive team took 10th place at the MSHSAA Swimming & Diving Championships this weekend, increasing their point total for the third year in a row and scoring the most points ever with 83. Sophomore Mary Tutera got the team started strong and dove to 11th place in the one meter diving with a school record 335.10 score. She is the only diver in school history to ever place at State. The medley relay of Abby Klover, Laura Klover, Chelsey Weatherford and Mary Frances Donnelly finished 6th with a school record time of 1:52.11, all earning All-State Honors. Senior Chelsey Weatherford placed 7th in the 100 butterfly and 4th in the 500 freestyle. Sophomore Mary Frances Donnelly also scored team points by placing 10th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.30. Freshman JT Nelson set school records in the 200 freestyle at 1:58.18 and the 100 freestyle at 54.46, finishing 14th and 10th respectively. Junior Abby Klover set a new school record of 1:01.78 in the 100 backstroke while her younger sister Laura Klover, a freshman, finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke and set a new school record of 1:08.59. The team had it largest team ever competing in the meet by sending 11 athletes and had 21 entries in the meet.
1/04/10 The Swim and Dive team made history over the weekend as they won the Columbia Invite, which became the first invitational win in the program's history. In the "prelim/final" format, 24 individual races made it back to swim in the evening session. The team scored 355 points, beating Glendale, Blue Springs, and 10 other high schools from around the state.
